New technique for playing Berimbau

The Berimbau is a Brazilian arc-instrument used in traditional Capoeira  dance, playing berimbau is  very difficult, but the sound is very  expressive.
In  my long career I had the necessity and desire to deepen the technical study of this instrument with the traditional methods.
Therefore I played the string with the right hand (with the stick):with the left hand I supported the instrument while the index finger and the thumb   held a metal coin, that I pressed from the inside on the string of theBerimbau to obtain various effects .
In the traditional technique muscles are subjected  to much tension.
I thought of and experimented one new technique in order to play this instrument that consists in changing the formation of the left hand, while the right hand maintains the traditional position and technique.
The new thechnique developed by me consists in changing the position of the left hand,  the little finger remains in the traditional position, which is under the rope that joins the string and the gourd which provides resonance  .
The index finger and thumb of the left hand will no longer hold the coin, which will not be used, but a metal " Slide guitar " tube from 4 to 6 centimeters long.
We will put the metal "bottleneck slide" onto the index finger of the left hand , it will have to touch the string from the outside ( no longer from the inside).
This will facilitate gripping the instrument and increase it’s technical possibilities enabling it to execute figures which were impossible to play until now. 
The middle finger and the ring finger of the left hand will be wrapped around the wood arc.
The thumbof the left hand will be inserted into an appropriate custom-made ring, which will have to be placed on the left side of the arc of the Berimbau.

Il Berimbau è uno strumento ad arco meraviglioso utilizzato in Brasile nella famosa danza "Capoeira", molto difficile da suonare, ma di grande potenza espressiva .Nel corso della mia carriera ho dovuto e voluto approfondire lo studio tecnico di questo strumento con i metodi cosidetti tradizionali .Quindi suonavo con la mano destra la corda con una  bacchetta di legno,con la mano sinistra invece sostenevo lo strumento e con l'indice ed il pollice della stessa mano stringevo una moneta di metallo, che premevo dall'interno sulla corda del Berimbau per ottenere altre note ed effetti.Questa tecnica è molto difficile e stancante perchè sottopone i muscoli ad una tensione molto forte.Ho pensato e sperimentato una nuova tecnica per suonare questo strumento che consiste nel cambiare completamente impostazione alla mano sinistra ,mentre la mano destra mantiene l'identica posizione e tecnica  tradizionale Brasiliana.La nuova tecnica messa a punto da me stesso consiste nel cambiare impostazione alla mano sinistra , per prima cosa il mignolo rimane nella posizione tradizionale ,cioè sotto la corda che unisce la corda e la zucca che fa da risuonatore.L'indice ed il pollice non avranno più la moneta ,che non si userà più, ma un tubo in metallo chiamato" Slide guitar" che è lungo  dai 4 ai 6 centimetri.Metteremo il ditale della slide guitar al dito indice della mano sinistra  , esso dovrà toccare la corda dall'esterno e non più, come nella tecnica tradizionale, dall'interno.Questo faciliterà sia l'impugnatura dello strumento e sia le possibilità tecniche dello strumento, che riuscirà ad eseguire figurazioni prima d'ora impossibili o difficili per il Berimbau.Il dito medio e il dito anulare della mano sinistra saranno avvolte intorno all'arco di legno .Il dito pollice della mano sinistra andrà infilato in un apposito anello, da creare artigianalmente, che si dovrà trovare sul lato sinistro dell'arco del Berimbau.
